Singapore could have not hoped for a better event for their team as they got to host the World Floorball Championships 2025 AOFC Qualification and they qualified for the WFC 2025 and for The World Games 2025. In the final, they beat Thailand 5-0 and took home the overall first place in the final standings.
Singapore host a successful WFC Qualification as they do not only qualify for the WFC 2025 but they will also be the first Singapore team to qualify for The World Games. With 5 back-to-back matches in the WFCQ, the Singapore team won four and got a 2-2 draw against Australia. In the final, Thailand did not stand a chance and Singapore took a clear 5-0 win against their rivals.
Thailand take the second place in the WFCQ and qualify for The World Games 2025 alongside Singapore. Although being in Top 3 in this event, Thailand will not qualify for the WFC 2025. This is because Thailand are hosting the SEA Games taking place in December and the calendar clashes with the WFC in Czechia. Overall, they played a great event winning three out of five matches. The top score of the event comes from Team Thailand: Rungnapa Kebsamrong who scored 10 goals and assisted 5.
Japan take home the third place in this WFCQ and although they played a convincing group stage being victorious, they lost the semi-final against Singapore and were left heartbroken for not qualifying for The World Games. But they put their gameface on for the third place game and won it against Australia 5-4. Australia, left disappointed after losing against Thailand in the semi-final, are qualified for the WFC 2025 and we will see the team in Czechia this December.
